Crazy crash test dummy goes sky diving without a parachute.

They say when mother is cold, baby gets another blanket. Last week was a crazy one for me, so I made a 2-minute “slow down” video to share with you. :)

Did I say I had a crazy week? Well, I realized the week wasn’t crazy, I was. So I just. slowed. down. Put 3 things on my to-do list instead of 15. Stopped trying to accomplish too much because no one cares. Really, no one’s life depends on what I do. I crashed, but in a good way. It was a lesson in humility.

The word “sane” means “healthy.” Healthy and free from the bondage of self-importance and self-inflicted guilt.

Whew!

So last Thursday, I pressed “pause” on some projects, spent quality time with God, and have felt a lot freer and saner since.

Now it’s time to share that peace: I filmed a cute family of geese in our local pond, put it to music, and voila! a 2-minute mini vacation for you. Hope you enjoy relaxing into it as much as I did creating it. And be sure to scroll down to comment whether you’d like to see more “mini-vacation” videos!

Love always,
Rose

I love your nature photographs! Yes, keep the videos coming. I will play this one over and over again.

How did you know that I’ve been struggling with humility?

Next to my desk I keep the words of St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta.
“Be humble and you will never be disturbed. It is very difficult in practice
because we all want to see the result of our work. Leave it to Jesus.”

Loved it , We once had a goose who hated me and bit me three times before we finally sent it to a pond far far away lol so the only good goose is one on a pond far far away !!!

      Debbie,
I hear ya. My mother had a lifelong fear of birds because a mean old rooster used to chase her during part of her walk home from grade school. (She usually left out the part of the story that she cut through someone’s yard, which provoked their bird!) Thanks for your comment.

Two minute mini vacation it is! All my anxiety and tension melted away. I watched it three times before writing this reply. Dare I say miracle?

Please continue these. This helps me remember what is promised–“the pease that surpasses all understanding ”
God sent me laryngitis as a slow down and humility reminder. I much prefer the videos!

    Hi Rose;
I had so many circumstances to be covered, and being the only one from my area, and making connections;it was just too overwhelming for me this year.
Glad you got to meet the others from our dioces (sp)

Great prayer. Loved those duckies and posies! More such videos would be nice, especially ones with kittycats!

      Diane,
Hmmm — I haven’t seen kittycats in Wheaton Regional Park, but I’ll keep looking! :) Thanks for your nice comment.

This was lovely, Rose! I’d really like to see more. The geese are so beautiful, and this was a wonderful break in the day. Thank you so much!

    Thank you Sister,
That was lovely. I too had a hard week. Work, family issues, marriage and everyday things that can hinder the heart. I’m so grateful for Gods love and mercy. I love how in those difficult times in my life, when all fails…he sends me reminders. Reminding me that He’s with me. I’m glad everything worked out for you. In your humility, you were able to see God through it all.
