In her poem, The Land, Vita Sackville-West wrote that “June is the month of weeds.” As we’re removing plants that take away from our garden’s beauty and purity of intent, we may as well use the time to ponder what weeds our souls could stand to get rid of, too.

What sins — that is, failures to love — need to be rooted out by forming new habits? The new habits, called virtues, cause love to blossom in our souls. And love always blossoms into joy.
