woman with stack of work

Have you ever tried to spend the same money twice? Like when I got a tax refund one year and started dreaming about how I’d spend it. Maybe a gorgeous winter coat I’d had my eye on. Or get new tires. Or go crazy on ordering annuals for the garden.

When I came back down to earth, it was a let-down to realize that I could only spend that money once. I had to make a choice.

That’s been my temptation this Lent. But the “money” here is time. I committed to more adoration during Lent. But it means I have to spend less time at work — and work has been winning too much of the time.

Re-committing
Maybe half-way through Lent is a good time to recommit to the sacrifice we chose. To start fresh — or go deeper. To remember that God knows our weakness and his arms are open to welcome us back whenever we want to start again.

If you’ve been successful in keeping your sacrifice so far, praise God! And please pray for the rest of us  :)

I’ll be leading the meditations at a retreat this week and will be praying that your Lent continues to bear beautiful fruit for the Kingdom and for your soul and the souls of those you pray for.

YOU are beautiful in God’s eyes.

Rose , I been keeping my eyes on my Lord and I won’t say it has been easy but I’m keeping my on what God has done for me and I’m seeing a beautiful way to a deeper understanding of HIS PERSONAL INTREST of our relationship together.
