Are you ready to say goodbye to the Year of St. Joseph?Β
Me neither!
So I’m re-running my March 2021 interview with Fr. Donald Calloway, MIC, author of Consecration to St. Joseph, who was kind enough to share his personal thoughts with us in this 19-min video below.
Here’s one of my favorite snippets from the book (page 164) that shows how Mary and Joseph workedΒ together as a couple:
“The sword that was going to pierce Mary’s Heart on Calvary needed to pierce the heart of St. Joseph as well, but in a different way. He would not be at Calvary, but the sword needed to pierce his paternal heart since it is fitting that the re-birth of mankind would involve both a mother and a father. Husbands do not experience labor pangs as a woman does, but every husband is called to journey with his wife throughout the pregnancy and prepare her for delivery. As a good husband, St. Joseph would see to it that his wife was well-prepared for her suffering. He spent decades preparing her for the painful delivery on Calvary.”
Enjoy more of Father’s rich insights in the interview! And if you haven’t made the consecration yet, it’s never too late :)
Love always,
Rose
P.S. The picture I used for this blog post, “St. Joseph, Terror Demons,” details a painting by Bernadette Carstensen commissioned by Father Calloway; canvas prints are available at consecrationtostjoseph.org.

I love Saint Joseph – I want him to stay with us in
2022.
I did the Consecration to Saint Joseph with Fr Calloway last spring. This novena helped take away so much fear in my soul. I feel closer to Our Father in heaven because of what I learned from Saint Joseph. Iβm putting my Trust in God daily.
Have a Blessed Second Sunday of Advent, Rose.
Thank you so much for your wonderful prayerful emails.
Blessings, ππΌππΌππΌ
