Newborn loved by father

Dear Friends,
My Guest Blogger this week is Mary Lenaburg, who wrote a Facebook post last Sunday that I just had to share with you. Hope it brightens your mood and your world as it did mine.

Love always,
Rose

This morning I woke to a winter wonderland and I cried. Jerry made me a hot cup of coffee, grabbed one of Courtney’s blankets and sat me on the front porch to just take in the beauty of it. As I sat there, God and I had a little chat and I cried some more.
.
My Mary Elizabeth,
.
I see you my daughter. The truth of you. The whole of you.
.
You only see the tired eyes, the double chin, the soft middle that tells the tale of emotion and stress, the bones that creek a little louder everyday, the confusion and panic over a world that’s broken and filled with pain, the heart that hurts for so many that are suffering, the mind that swirls with possibilities but sometimes lacks the confidence to step into action, the concern of your mother’s heart for the future and doubt that dances around your mind that I have things well in hand.
.
I SEE you and I KNOW you and I LOVE all of you.
.
I see your tenacity, your gift of encouragement, your fierce love for your people, you passion for the mission I placed on your heart, your generosity and kindness that tips the scale sometimes into overwhelming gratitude for the uniqueness of others, your humor that puts people at ease, your mother’s lioness heart that protects those who cannot protect themselves, your gift for sitting with people in pain and truly hearing their hearts cry, your ability to face hard things while leaning on me to carry you through and that double chin and middle you hate so much, tells the tale of hours of baking and cooking and feeding peoples emptiness.
.
I SEE the truth of the whole you and I LOVE what I have made. Receive that love today my daughter.
.
Today KNOW the peace that is beyond your understanding my daughter. Take in the beauty around you and bask in the glory of it all. Rest in me and I will fill your well to overflowing.
.
I LOVE you and you are mine.
.
With Deep Gratitude for your existence,
GOD, your loving Father
.
Dare to believe He loves you friends. Because He does, in abundance.
💛 Happy Sunday.

So many of my meditation reading in recent weeks have pointed me to this message, too. So glad that God is at work not only in my life, but in the lives of so many others. Thanks for sharing.

I had to read through this twice, maybe just to reassure myself that God wants me to see myself the way that he does, and to take in everything around me (peace in all of His creation). Beautiful!

        Tina,
Maybe you’ve just described the secret to peace and happiness: taking our focus off ourselves and looking at what beautiful things God is doing around and through us!

This is a beautiful and loving article. God is full of blessings, love and mercy that He showers upon us daily. He is the reason along with Mother Mary, that hope can be felt in the midst of the evil and heinous sin that has been exposed in our world. He puts us where He wants us, and I was blessed to teach high school English for 34 years and help so many even with personal problems and then He gave me 3 grandchildren to take care of from babies to now 13, 10 and soon to be 5. Our God is so awesome.

      Pat,
I’ve been very much considering how to be the woman God calls me to be in the midst of such evil. I wrote some things today during prayer and will share them next week as a meditation on the Lord’s Prayer. Stay tuned!

Such beautiful sentiment. God knows the perfect words to impart to us.

    • Rose Folsom

Yes, he knows the perfect words. May he forgive me for all the times he said “I love you” and I was too distracted to hear it :)

Thank you so much. Today (Sunday was) my Mother’s birthday and I just lost my brother who I haven’t seen since 2011 but spoke to every Monday, except the Monday before he passed. He passed on January 16 this year . He lived alone and I got a call from my sister that she couldn’t reach him. We sent a sheriff to check on him(he lived in a different state than we did) He was found unresponsive but still breathing. This was Thursday evening now. He was taken to an Emergency hospital and never was able to be responsive again. He passed Saturday morning after being transferred to a nursing home on the day before. By the Grace of God I was able to get a priest to him for anointing of the sick and last rites.
